The Brainy Brunch has been serving up brainy banter and bagels since early 2013, and is on every couple of months at Impact Hub Islington. It was founded by Anna Levy, who continues to host the event, but is a real community affair with a friendly bunch of regular brunchers, volunteer bagel-spreaders and a whole load of lovely new people each time.
There's a different topic for each brunch, which is chosen and curated by one of our brunchers or an outside speaker. Showing TED talks, short films and other snippets of inspiration, the curator is there to kickstart the discussions and to get us all ruminating and reflecting in small groups as we munch on our tasty brunch.
Past brunches have covered issues ranging from the effect of technology on our lives and connectedness to each other, to whether and how gender is constructed by society, to our financial system and whether it meets the needs of the people. Any topic is a goer as long as it provides enough juice to get our brains whirring on a Sunday morning and provides the opportunity for debate and reflection.
Come and join us at our Next Brunch or get in touch if you have an idea for a future brunch topic.
